State of Russia’s Fathers

This report presents the state of fatherhood in Russia, as part of the State of the World’s Fathers series. The study aims to fill the gap in research on men’s role in child rearing and on men’s involvement in family life in Russia, as well as on the key role of fathers in gender equality and the empowerment of women. The data included in this research show conclusively that major changes aimed at the development of involved fatherhood must be introduced in society, and the report concludes with recommendations for encouraging fathers to share care work.
