2012 was marked by the expansion of Equimundo’s activities to new contexts and by our growing specialization in the methodologies and research that we have worked on since Equimundo was founded.
Thanks to the work developed in 2012, the MenCare Global Fatherhood Campaign is taking root in the vulnerable area of tea plantations in the center of Sri Lanka. Just one year after its launch, the campaign and its activities have been implemented in seven other countries.
Our initial efforts to transform masculinities through gender equality work in Africa’s Great Lakes Region are also beginning to produce results.
In Brazil, our growing specialization in the use of sports to reach men with messages on gender equality has generated interest from embassies, companies, and the UN during the preparations for the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games 2016.
Our multi-country study IMAGES (The International Men and Gender Equality Survey) has been recognized as a model study on masculinities and gender equality.
In 2012 Equimundo made significant progress in its work towards social and gender justice.
