On May 29, Apolitical announced its “100 Most Influential People Working in Gender Policy 2019” list, noting Equimundo’s President and CEO Gary Barker, as well as Senior Fellow Michael Kaufman, amongst prominent thought leaders and activists around the world.
Apolitical, a global platform for content exploring what works in policy across the world, also lists Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Marlene Schiappa, Denis Mukwege, Melinda Gates, Michelle Obama, Maryam Monsef, Ruth Bader-Ginsburg, Katja Iversen, and Christine Lagarde among its honorees.
The list recognizes politicians, civil servants, academics, and activists driving change around the world. Over 9,000 nominations for the “100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy” were curated from thousands of gender experts from leading organizations, including the United Nations, Women Deliver, Women in Global Health, The World Bank, Women for Climate Justice, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Gary was selected for his decades of dedication to the field of gender justice, conducting extensive global research and program development around engaging men and boys in gender equality and violence prevention. Congratulations to Gary, Michael, and all of Equimundo’s partners who were also represented on the list.
