Equimundo co-hosted events for Father’s Day Week of Action with the US Congressional Dads Caucus. Throughout the week of advocacy events with the Dads Caucus, we were joined by fathers and fatherhood champions including Congressman Jimmy Gomez, Chair of the Dads Caucus, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, a founding member of both the Dads Caucus and Mamas Caucus, Chasten Buttigieg, an author, activist, and husband to Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Laura Modi, co-founder and CEO of the baby formula company Bobbie, and more.

Fathers and father figures want to be present, caring, and nurturing – like most parents – and find ways to connect with their children or children in their care through a range of activities and moments. Core Elements of Gender Transformative Fatherhood Programs to Promote Care Equality and Prevent Violence

Program P (“P” for the words for father in Portuguese, pai, and Spanish, padre) was developed in 2011 specifically to promote men’s positive involvement as fathers in maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) and in caring for their children. Since then, it has been adapted in close to 30 countries by a wide array of partner organizations, ranging from small community-based organizations to large multilateral development organizations and governments, often in partnership with Equimundo.
