On April 26, 2018, Equimundo will join thousands of schools, organizations, and companies around the world participating in 50/50 Day 2018, a global day of action dedicated to advancing gender equality.
More than 30,000 events will take place on 50/50 Day, a campaign founded by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tiffany Shlain to examine the history of women and power and engage people across the world in a movement for gender equity. 50/50 Day will feature activities such as partner-led screenings of 50/50 Day’s flagship short film 50/50: Rethinking the Past, Present, and Future of Women + Power, a livestream featuring discussions with leaders from around the world, and pledges by individuals related to achieving gender equality in their lives – whether it’s a CEO pledging to increase the number of women in senior roles to 50% or a couple committing to redistribute the division of household labor.
Equimundo’s President and CEO Gary Barker will be a featured speaker on the 50/50 Day livestream again this year, highlighting ways men – in all sectors of society – can be partners in reaching a more gender-equitable world.
Any school, company, or organization can access free resources for organizing a 50/50 Day event – including short films for screenings, discussion kits, and posters – by officially signing up to host a 50/50 Day event, big or small, here. Join the campaign online using the hashtag #GettingTo5050.
