Equimundo is participating in the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) Forum 2019 which is being held in Cape Town, South Africa from October 21-25. The forum – the world’s key research conference on violence against women and other forms of violence driven by gender inequality in low- and middle-income countries – will bring together researchers, funders, practitioners, and policymakers to design solutions for ending violence against women and girls.
This year, participants will share, build knowledge, and network around research that works to understand and address inequity among vulnerable populations to ensure no one is left behind; research that examines violence against women and its connections to violence against children in an effort to advance the Sustainable Development Goals; and research that supports social change and global movements.
Equimundo will present research and programs that aim to prevent violent extremism, intimate partner violence and violence against children, to disrupt the intergenerational transmission of violence, improve violence service coordination, and to address children’s exposure to violence. Equimundo will also co-convene a global consultation to explore strategies for expanding attention to children exposed to violence.
